Pros

1. easy teaching because you no need to prep for lesson 2. 20 days annual leave, but they reduced it now to 14 or 15 for new hires 3. decent starting salary, but they also reduced it now for local hires (10% less) 4. some teachers and colleagues are nice 5. when you see children progress, it is satisfying

Cons

1. little to no career progression 2. toxic top-down management culture 3. management will not defend teachers / staff if a parent makes a complaint - management always side with parents 4. some entitled and toxic colleagues who have the backing of management will spread gossips and rumours 5. you dont get to choose which level you want to teach (lower aged students or primary) - management will decide for you 6. when you are sick, they make you feel bad for taking mc because they have no relief teacher to take over your class 7. annual leave can only be taken on term break. off-in-lieu days cannot be taken on the same month, but rolled over to the following year. Who knows when you can actually use them? Not HR for sure. 8. no support given to teachers when they struggle with a student / parent. Advanced teacher / senior teacher / teacher team lead are all just titles and figureheads and wont actually help. if you are planning to join, good luck. no training / support will be given, but you are expected to be perfect. 1 small mistake or parent complain and you will be grilled by management till you cry. join only if you like to be pushed around, be told what to do, follow instruction blindly, and have no spine to stand up for yourself.

Pros

The people here are generally friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. Management is willing to listen to feedback, and employees do feel appreciated for their contributions. Also had exposure to working with different departments, which helped me learn to adapt and communicate with various stakeholders. The company also puts in effort to boost morale through small welfare initiatives such as monthly goodies like fruits, and ice cream sessions.

Cons

While the working environment is generally positive, there are still areas where internal communication and collaboration across teams can be improved. Cross-functional collaboration could benefit from clearer ownership, stronger alignment, and more open communication between departments. Currently, the lack of a centralized communication platform can sometimes result in conversations and updates being scattered across different channels.
