Pros

You will get a paycheck. Granted, it will be less than other place's pay.

Cons

Ignore all of the recent high rated reviews. These are all generated by HR. Some contain fake job positions! They were all done to preempt and react to the unethical surprise firing of around 150 employees. They did this the last time their toxic ways made the Glassdoor rating plummet and even encouraged employees to go write reviews to fix it. The firing done so poorly that, before announcing it over Zoom, they (The CPO) were sharing their private chat about the firings. We were able to see this before the video presentation began! We have been replaced with outsourced positions that will allow the company to get more tax breaks and save more money. Profits up. Quality down! This year we were all given fake corporate feelgood messages about how great we've been doing. Best year ever, best money ever, were the best! Here's some New Years swag! We're still the cool Hyland local favorite! It's all lies. THEY are doing good. The people at the top pulling strings and destroying the company from the inside out. They have known about these plans for a while. Corona can't stop Hyland! Toxic leadership can. Hyland removed ethics from their core values last year and I guess we should have all taken this as a sign of the plays that they had in store. You can go ahead and look at Reddit or Twitter or the news coverage to see more details and the reactions. One of the local favorite companies that enjoys their community outreach and looking good in the media has just decided to outsource to Poland and India to save a buck and make themselves more money. Word from the inside is that the damage control meetings are phony and unsettling. Speaking of word from the inside: the folks still employed have been told to report any unethical behavior directly to the people who just did the most unethical things possible. They want to make sure everyone is operating with integrity in these dark times, so they should reach out and tattle on their coworkers to the new dictators since they are the experts on operating with integrity. Anyone speaking up now is going to be swiftly dealt with. They don't value honest feedback and it will be used against you as soon as possible. Hyland Software is dead. The people in charge don't know anything about software. Avoid and apply elsewhere.

Pros

Work/life balance Great people to work with on daily basis Ability to work remote (US based) Plenty of development opportunities I've been given the tools I need to do my job and be innovative I have an amazing manager and team that I lead

Cons

I am restricted on where I can hire new employees right now. There are a lot of competing priorities with similar deadlines which can be stressful, but the days go by fast.

Pros

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Cons

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
