Pros
It's not often you get to work at a startup that has such a rich set of investors (both VC and strategic) and a top notch group of strategic partners. Who else can name VMware, Intel, Cisco and IQT as investors? There are many one-trick pony type startups. HyTrust is maturing and building a product line that others will struggle to compete with. Of course, this adds churn through acqusitions, new products, new strategic relationships and the need to always be pushing the bar higher. But HyTrust is still a small company that allows individuals to work in a fast-paced, every-changing environment. Just what a startup is all about right? This can be a challenge but John De Santis and the management team foster an open door environment. Anyone can go talk to John! We're pushed to challenge each other but do so in a way that fosters creativity and respect for individuals.
Cons
Office culture is evolving to create a better environment. There is certainly more work than can be handled by the current size of the team and this contributes to some of the concerns that others have mentioned. In many respects, this is nothing different to many Silicon Valley startups but does need to be addressed.
