Pros

- Encourage the continued education of their employees - Good people and office culture - Plenty of in-office educational and social events that you can choose to attend (but it hurts your reputation if you never make an appearance) - Efforts to improve sustainability in the office - Involved in volunteer charity work

Cons

- I realize that the covid-19 pandemic was difficult and new for everyone, but even considering that I don't think it was handled well. Upper management sent out an email denying the seriousness of covid and had everyone continue to come to the office until work from home was mandated by the government. Upper management was relatively safe working in their private offices and driving their personal cars to work, but there seemed to be little concern for those of us working in the open office and taking public transportation to work. - There's no safety net for economic downturns. Pay cuts and mass layoffs happened immediately after quarantine started with no warning and no severance. - The company actively worked to reduce the tools available to do our jobs efficiently, resulting in inefficiency for certain projects. - Sometimes designers are asked to do non-billable work, which hurts their standings as a valuable employee. - Designers don't have a say in the types of projects they work on or who they work with. - Most of the projects are standard and don't have room for much creativity. - Imbalance of work load among designers.

Huntsman Architectural Group Response

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your experience at Huntsman Architectural Group. We take all comments seriously in hopes of continually improving the work experience at our company. Employee safety and well-being is a priority at Huntsman and taken very seriously. The Pandemic was an unprecedented challenge for us all. We responded in a timely manner to adopt all safety precautions mandated by the City, County, State and the CDC, including closing our offices and encouraging all employees to work from home. Like many of our peers in the profession, we implemented limited layoffs and all affected employees received compensation. We did not take that decision lightly and have offered assistance to those seeking subsequent employment. Designers at Huntsman are encouraged to engage in an ongoing open dialogue about their assignments, design opportunities and their career path. We are very proud of our team members and office culture and pleased to know that you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you again for your review and we wish you the best going forward. Shauneille Foster, Director of Human Resources
