Pros

You aren't held accountable. The corporate office was right downtown. Everyone gets along face to face. You can be lazy if you'd like without getting punished or spoken to. Good work life balance if you just want to work your 40 and occasionally do a job fair. You're basically allowed to say the work didn't get done because you weren't in the office.

Cons

I have never been in such an environment where co-workers are unable to keep themselves from gossiping about other coworkers. Lies were generated on reasons for leaving, you would notice people who were "friends" with another coworker seriously tearing them down behind their back. Objectives and goals are hazy, a target is set without any kind of process or strategy to get to that target. Goals are mostly set as "i hope you guys can do this". The training offered is short and general, and although this is a young company, are a lot of bureaucracies and processes in place that hinder any kind of flexibility. A lot of workers have lost their motivation to achieve in the workplace and seem to only be at work to be around what they call their friends. Also the pay is terribly below market rate and there isn't much opportunity to grow. Most of the company is threatened by change and it looks like a lot of their strategies are set up where they are "playing to not lose" as opposed to making big things happen. Their time to fills are atrocious versus the market as well as their actual fill rate. Instead of bringing in experienced recruiters, they continuously hire new talent or move someone from an operational role and then wonder why the recruiting function is so dismal. This company will pull at your heartstrings but won't help you grow.

Pros

Flexible and accommodating when it comes to work/life management. Management treats employees like family. Great place for starting out. Great culture throughout the company.

Cons

Lower pay than average and higher health care costs each year (but that's just about everywhere). Not much room for growth. Small company doesn't leave its comfort zone so projects are predictable.
