Pros

Salary is satisfactory if yu are in first level. The pension is adequate. Five weeks vacation when I retired.

Cons

As a college graduate I was disappointed that I received no opportunities for advancement. There were others who had degrees. One sued and won his case based on discrimination. Another operator who had a degree was fired for exposing wrongdooing on the part of middle management. Metro management said to me that they could care less about education and college degrees. The supervisors could not spell cat if you gave them the c and the a to start.

Pros

Working in a large government facility. Pay was pretty good.

Cons

Catty behavior from main superiors. They act like high school mean girls. Between their attitudes and ignorance, it was impossible to learn anything from them. HR treated college interns like elementary school children. It felt more like a field trip chaperoned by micromanaging kindergarten teachers than an internship for adults. They also can't seem to communicate without a big Barney smile plastered on their faces, no matter what the topic is. "Metro is so great," reminders every step of the way.
