Pros

Your name appears in print a few times a month. It’s fun to show that off.

Cons

Everything. You are treated as if you don’t matter, and any real experience you have means nothing. It doesn’t matter what you did before coming to Hour or what you bring to the table, your opinions and expertise are shot down every time you speak up. The people in the offices talk down to you. A lot. And if you try to stand up for yourself and/or your coworkers, someone will take their revenge out on you. You’ll end up apologizing to people who don’t deserve it for something you didn’t do. Also, a huge chunk of the people who actually get paid decently aren’t actually qualified for their positions. If you’re a threat to their egos (even if you just want to mind your own business), they will make your life hell. I’ve literally watched files get deleted or purposely modified to ensure that other employees are terminated. There is also a huge problem in regards to sexism and racism. Management will acknowledge that there’s a reason so many women work for this company: because they can and will be paid less than men. I refuse to repeat the things these people have said about anyone who isn’t white in private, but let’s just say that there are quite a few stories that I could tell. Trust no one. Everyone looks out for themselves and will blame anyone else they can if something goes wrong. Oh, and the pay sucks. You could literally make more money at McDonalds and be happier. And hey, at least McDonalds will (usually) pay you overtime. If I could give this company a score of 0 stars, I would.

Pros

Pros: You’ll quickly learn how much work one person can absorb after management lets people go and dumps their responsibilities on whoever is left. The low pay paired with long hours teaches you how to survive on stress instead of compensation. The dull, corporate building perfectly reflects the lack of creativity and inspiration inside—soulless and uninspiring. Upper Management provides a clear lesson in how power can be misused. “Bonuses” technically exist—if you count occasional gift cards from companies the sales team works with. Plenty of time to reflect on your career choices : )

Cons

Cons: Employees are not valued or supported. Upper Management is completely out of touch and makes no effort. Human Resources exists to protect the company, not the people. HR works to keep employees in check rather than advocate for them. There are no real bonuses, profit sharing, or meaningful incentives—only sporadic gift cards tied to sales partners, which feel more insulting than rewarding. Heavy reliance on unpaid interns, who are lured in with promises of experience and then exploited like full-time staff. The workplace is emotionally draining and physically uninspiring—sterile, corporate, and completely void of creativity despite claiming to be a media company. Employees are taken advantage of, overworked, and expected to be grateful for it. Raises, growth opportunities, and recognition are nonexistent. Good luck trying to get any computer equipment or support from IT Department without a million questions. It's just a toxic work environment.
