My review of Hostmark Hospitality is terrible. The worst managment company I've ever worked for - Bartender/Server/Room Service Server Hostmark Hospitality Group Employee Review

Pros

No pros. The company lies to their employees, follows no regulations. I feel terrible for the people stuck working for such an establishment.

Cons

The management runs by their own rules. They underpay, under appreciate and run a company with no regards for their employees. Since this management company took over the marriott in Salt Lake City they have lowered pay, fired or ran out all senior employees, they have lowered food quality, took away all entertainment aspects for guests such as pool tables and soon they will be taking away the pool that provides all the guests including children especially the ones staying for health care some form of entertainment in the hotel. They have fired over 40 employees in the duration of 8 months. The corporation supports all of this. Not marriott. Hostmark

On our last annual Artist survey results, this hotel scored 86.9% in overall artist satisfaction and 85.3% in artist loyalty. While we can always improve, our ratings at this hotel are well above the 81% industry benchmark. We will continue to work with our property Artists to get as close to 100% satisfaction as we can. Hostmark and the hotels we manage are in compliance with all labor, safety and health regulations and is not in violation of Federal or Utah state laws. Our hotel Artists are paid competitive wages and full-time artists also receive competitive benefits package. We encourage you to reach out to upper management either at the hotel or home office to have your concerns addressed. Additionally, we do have an anonymous communication form on our Artists’ website that team members can use to anonymously communicate problems or issues directly to the home office without involving property management team. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Our Artists are what make us great, and while we’re disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your time as part of our team, we will use your feedback to continue to improve.

Pros

Hostmark has a team that is very helpful when you need it. They are there to walk through the steps a new employee. They are a challenging company to work for and work with due to the vast array of personalities. There are those people you get along with just fine and there are a select few that are very difficult and rude. However, all in all the experience s a good one to have whether you stay with Hostmark or choose to leave and move forward. It is a set of skills you can carry forward in life.

Cons

The downside to Hostmark is that when you need support they are not readily available. When you expect them to arrive for important dates i.e. meetings there are no responses given back. You are left there to make excuses for them. I think that part of the hospitality experience for employees is that Hostmark shows up for important events even if it is just to be a support system. Asking for items is difficult. No one responds back in a timely manner. It is annoying to get items to fix the hotel in timely manner.
