Pros

Purpose and mission of the organization

Cons

Where do I begin? Working for Horizon Outreach has to be the worst experience I've ever had in the workforce. The CEO is an awful human being to work for. The reviews of praise here are certainly fabricated as the numbers do not lie. There has been over 20 case managers employed with the agency that clients and community partners can verify. They either resign or the CEO will terminate before the 90 day probationary period to avoid having to pay unemployment. She wasted a great deal of my time and it is my sincere wish that I never crossed paths with this cruel being.

Pros

Fathers and men from the community have a opportunity to better their lives. It's also a good place to go when you have no place to go. Me myself and other fathers took the time to get to know one another and networked while receiving help from the program. This program provides you with free services for job skills. I received my forklift license, my TWIC card, my OSHA 10 certification, and received free meals like dominoes pizza and drinks with the other men in the program all FREE! Ms. Johnson personally checks up on her students and I am so blessed and grateful to have her as my mentor and advocate After receiving all of that help she assisted me with obtaining my Commercial Drivers License through sending me to a truck driving school of my choice which costs over $4,000!!! She also has helped some of my friends and other family members through her program. Over 7,500 men have received assistance through this program and I am proud to be one of them, Eagle, Eagle, Eagle!!!!

Cons

I wish other organizations would partner up with Horizon Outreach and do onsite job fairs, and offer more funding for other things like housing assistance, legal assistance, and clothing assistance. I have nothing bad to say about the program other than if you don't want to help people this is not the place for you and if you aren't ready to receive help this is not the place for you!
