Pros

Can make a minimum of $100 per shift most of the time unless it’s a game day and you have a section where people refuse to sit. Good incentives for sales competitions but if you fail to make your mark- it WILL affect your schedule or you will be written up.

Cons

They claim to be flexible with their scheduling at the interview but when you need to change your availability outside of your 90 days probationary period they refuse to accept it, even if it is due to you getting another job. There are girls that work only 1-2 shifts per week and if you request that type of schedule they will only tell you it’s a seniority thing. They don’t care about their employees no matter how much they try to make it out like they do. No benefits. Favoritism favoritism FAVORITISM. Not just from management but from the captains as well. Captains are in charge of making the floor chart and putting the hooter girls in their sections. If you aren’t buddy buddy with them then you will be put in the worst sections which will sometimes set you up for failure. Not only considering that it’s STILL Norfolk. Not everyone is inclined to tip. Girls will fight over regulars. For example if a well known big tipping regular wants to sit in your section, Goodluck even trying to sit down and speak with them yourself. The other girls will surround the regular in an attempt at free money. Some regulars consider Hooters as a means to find a date with any girl they can get their hands on. They will hire literally any pretty girl that walks in. And they don’t know when to stop. For example- this location currently has over 30 girls on the schedule and keep hiring more because their turnover rate is absolutely dog water. (Hmmm I wonder why.) once you are there, they will prove that hooter girls are disposable rather than truly valued. They would rather let a great employee quit rather than accommodate to keep them. Most of the people there are very fake (yes even managers) ESPECIALLY if you are new. They will talk behind your back and joke on you when you literally don’t know what you’re doing. The manager Tina is absolutely 2 faced. She will be very nice and bubby one day and the next, just doesn’t know how to talk to people respectfully then proceeds to act like nothing happened. It is truly the most toxic and mentally exhausting atmosphere that I have EVER worked for in my LIFE. The way that some girls will literally get away with anything with management turning a blind eye simply because they’ve been with the company longer than you- it’s astounding. If you ever need to call out for whatever reason- you will be written up unless you can get another girl to cover your shift (unless you have a doctors note)- which they will not be inclined to do unless you pay them a hefty amount to do so.
