Do not work @ Hoopes Vision - Anonymous employee Hoopes Vision Employee Review

Working for Hoopes Vision was hands down the worst working experience I have ever had. Management, if you can call it that, does not care about their employees. They put on a really great front and when I first started working there I was happy to be working with "good" people but turns out, I was wrong. The charade only lasts so long. Every department hates each other and there is no teamwork through out anything within the company. This leads to poor communication and an "us versus them" mindset. The lack of communication goes all the way to the ground level. If you're not around during an announcement, you won't be given the information later but will be treated like the village idiot for not knowing the new change. Training is a joke. Again, most of it is one person making you feel like the village idiot. They brag about being flexible with your work schedule but if you actually need/want a day off, you'll be questioned and made to feel guilty until you can prove why you deserve the time off. Last, they have a third party HR company who is somehow worse than Hoopes Vision. They are condescending when you have a concern by asking questions like "You know you can talk to admin about this, right?" except when you do talk to the administrator, guess what? She is also condescending! I submitted an HR "grievance" and didn't get a response for 6 months (after following up multiple times). When I mentioned this during my exit from HV, I was then sent a letter essentially saying "we resolved your issue but since you don't work for the company anymore we won't give you details b/c it doesn't involve you". Hah. I spent many lunch breaks and long evenings after working crying from how stressful it was working with such horribly incompetent management (and ground level employees, to be honest). Save yourself the trouble and find a different job to apply to. Do not apply to Hoopes Vision.
