Pros
- Management cares about your well-being and pays special attention to work/life balance - The culture is great. Honestly it feels more like a big group of really good friends than a tech company. - Coworkers are very talented and knowledgeable, but they're also easily approachable when you need help with something. - Ability to work remotely, but an office is also provide in downtown Salt Lake City to work from when you want - Nice new equipment to do your job (Macbook and monitor) - Great salary - Referral bonuses - Bounty program Submit a proposal for some project that will benefit the company After approval, schedule time to work on it Complete it Demo it Get paid for it - Unlimited PTO 3 weeks MINIMUM per year is encouraged. - Vacation bonus Once a year if you vacation to somewhere you've never been, they'll give you money for the trip. - Personal Innovation Budget Recurring $50 a month for anything that helps you do your job. (Work related online courses, work related books, snacks and drinks for home office, lunch with coworkers, etc.) - Certification bonuses They pay for the cost of the exam and then give you a bonus when you pass. - Recognition for achievements. Seems like a small thing, but they don't hesitate to give you a shoutout in the weekly company meeting if you've done something noteworthy. - Holiday Party and Summer Party (Except when there's a pandemic. Instead of the summer party this year Hoodoo gave each employee a National Parks pass which was very cool.) - Game Night Every 6 weeks or so the company hosts a game night at the office where people stay late to play games and socialize. Those working remotely can join via the Hoodoo Discord channel. Food is always provided and fun is always had. - Different paths for career advancement. They understand that people want to be promoted, but not necessarily into management. - Very transparent with finances and the financial health of the company. - The future of the company is bright. Quarter after quarter and year after year Hoodoo has boomed and it just keeps growing. I've worked for enough other companies to realize how different and special Hoodoo is and I'm so happy I landed here. This is hands down the best place I've ever worked.
Cons
Some might consider agency work as a downside (myself included when I worked at other agencies), but Hoodoo is so good at what they do that clients are typically happy and easy to work with.
