Homewatch CareGivers

Is this your company?

Not great, but could be worse. - Direct Support Specialist Homewatch CareGivers Employee Review

Pros

The good part of working here is the clients. You get to feel like you're really helping people and making a difference everyday. Flexible schedule depending on your availability. They put a lot of work into trying to match you with clients in your area so the travel time is less.

Cons

The office staff are kind (mostly), but they lack communication with staff in the field and each other. If you or a client cancels a shift, you'll get a call from another staff member asking why you're not with your client. If the office makes a mistake, you'll be the one blamed for it. They won't give you a raise at your reviews and falsely say that you had no call no shows when you didn't. There is zero security for the employee. If a client makes a false claim (even while admitting it was schizophrenic dream), they will believe the client and treat you like a criminal. The company cares about the clients, not the employees. When you really need them, they won't be there for you. Old, incorrect, or missing information in the care plans. You're also just kind of thrown into meeting with a client without clear instruction. Most clients are confused about what we're at their home for.
