Pros

Great benefits package and employee covered 100% Yearly bonuses IF company meets quota. Management backs up employees against outside vendors if not at fault. Company bonding events done throughout the year and employee only holiday party.

Cons

Working w/ Evergreen - Homestead should consider working for a new home builder. Evergreens employees are shite to work with. Underpaid and overworked project managers. Project wise, there is no balance across the board. Unorganized company from Office to Field, this affects productivity and workflow. They hire young, inexperienced workers because they are cheap labor and let go of those more competent, experienced employees because they don't want to give raises. Reviews are done however pointless since raises are rare and ones overall thoughts on how to make the company better is not taken into consideration.

Pros

The benefits were fairly good, multiple insurance packages to choose from. There are some very good people that work there, the company is lucky that they haven’t left yet.

Cons

Extremely unprofessional management. At least one supervisor would routinely verbally abuse and denigrate other employees, he was eventually removed from his position (after more than a year) but was rewarded with a telework position in Hawaii. Upper level management was also extremely unprofessional. VPs would openly insult our sales people in front of other employees on a routine basis. Pay was too low for the required qualifications, which led to retention issues. It would take a year or more to replace a field engineer that left, and whoever remained was forced to work unpaid overtime to make up the difference. They demand 50-60 hours a week depending on the time of year. The company gives a standard raise of 2 or 3 percent every couple of years, so new people coming in will often make more starting than people who have been there for one or two years. Several people that I worked with were fired after giving notice, and upper level management threatened retaliation against employees who either quit publicly or didn’t give notice (which is illegal in Virginia). Upper level management also threatened to fire people if they discussed compensation (which is also illegal).
