Pros

Great brokerage to start at if you're a new agent. They offer excellent training, support, and tech tools to help get you started in the industry. You will learn a lot, but not earn a lot. Start this as a side job, don't depend on it full time if you're a new agent. Open workspace may be awkward at first but creates a welcoming environment for asking questions and meeting other employees. You can use the office space whenever needed. Promote use of electronic documents and other technologies to make your job easier. Team is receptive to sharing ideas and feedback. Be sure to share ideas/feedback via email or in a presentation so it's documented and you receive credit for your thoughts.

Cons

Don't quit your job! They claim that all leads are qualified but this is not the case. Leads are often unqualified. Don't work here if you need to depend on it as a steady source of income. Although Home61 claims that lead disbursement is automated, management gives preference to their personal favorites/friends and will withhold leads to others at their will. Unpleasant office culture. Very high employee turnover. One co-founder often removed his shirt at the office. After a string of female staff quit, a meeting had to be held to discuss office culture and gossip. Hard to create a successful career as an agent with this company due to competition from better-known brokerages. Exiting the company was handled unprofessionally. Be sure to save your documents to a personal device or account before giving them courtesy advance notice of your departure of the company.

Thank you for your well though out review! I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't make the commissions you wanted to earn. I'm also very disappointed with your opinion on employee turnover and office gossip and culture. To address the first claim: Working with online leads is very difficult and it requires long term dedication. In fact, working in Real Estate is very hard and it takes years to start earning six figures consistently. The average Home61 GCI is over $50,000. This is 7x more than the market average and 4x more that our average GCI in 2017. As for the claims of female agents leaving because of gossip and a shirt being taken off, I'm 100% certain this is not true. If agents leave Home61 it's usually because they did not make full time commitment and can't close our leads and generate referrals. Agents who close, stay and make money. We value our agents and employees very highly and invest a lot into their development and growth. Sometimes, sales isn't the career path for everyone. We try to make sure that every agent receives the right support, training and leads to succeed but sometimes the sales skills aren't there to succeed. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and if you would like to discuss any further complains, please email me at peter@home61.com.
