Pros
Everything, all the opportunities a person could want!
Cons
People who think that they don’t have to work as hard as the rest of the team. I supervised this employee. He flatly refused to work even 40 hours when the rest of the programers, whom I’ve supervised for years and appreciate the opportunity, pulled together to meet our clients deadlines and always have. This person refused to work even 40 hours as the newest member of the team wouldn’t do anything more while others had to pick up the slack. This company appreciates its employees, and the employees appreciate the company and we all do what is needed to help meet our clients deadlines. Thats what you do in IT/programming. The career has long hours expected. And the newest guy on the team apparently not only doesn’t believe this, he doesn’t care about his teammates, not a team player and I couldn’t be happier to see him go. We’re a tight and good team, the company has sponsored citizenship for many programing staff that put the effort in. You get out what you put in and that is fair. This person is off his rocker, good luck finding a technology job anywhere in this country working less than 40 hours.
