- Very inexperienced managers that don’t have much technical background or people skills - People who get noticed or move up usually do so because they’re on good terms with management, not necessarily because they’re the most capable or skilled - There’s little interest in trying new approaches or improving how things are done - Communication isn’t great, and things can get pretty unorganized and messy - Paid through a contractor, so it’s just the paycheck — no extra perks
