Pros

The only pro I can think of is the office, which looks like anything in the tech space. Free coffee too. Product concept is innovative, but direct competitors are miles ahead in every facet of digital prospecting.

Cons

-On boarding process is absolutely offensive. You get 3 months to prove yourself, even though the "enterprise" deals take at least 6 mo to even start a conversation... The chances of you making it past 3 mo is equivalent to the company conversion rate. -Selling a solution on a transactional basis; based on an extremely abstract concept of other "anonymous" competitors mutually sharing data. This negates the concept of ROAS if performance marketers can't do an apples to apples comparison. -The accounts have been touched more times than a public door handle and the product does not work as advertised. Essentially digital marketing snake oil.

The rumors of our death have been greatly exaggerated. We’re going to make it a requirement that all prospective employees read our negative reviews. Our recent ratings have merit and it’s important that any prospective employee understands why they do and what our culture is all about. We have aggressive goals that weren’t being met, but we felt with a new approach we could attain them. Thus, the major shift was having fewer sales associates with higher expectations. But this change in staff numbers was balanced by increase compensation to all existing team members, as well as to attract talent who could reach these goals. With this new model, we could have simply made unilateral decisions for certain team members, but we decided, if a team member so chose, to allow everyone a chance to meet the new expectations set forth. Yes, without a doubt altering expectations is trying for any organization, especially an early stage company, but we believe being agile in our growth is why we will continue to flourish as a company. Our culture is one of autonomy and accountability. We choose to focus on the end result and not the journey. With no micromanagement comes more freedom, which not everyone can handle, ultimately. If you don’t hit your numbers, most likely you’ll be asked to leave. Understand that commitments (i.e., numbers) are not ultimatums thrown over the shoulders of our sales reps like yokes on oxen, they are negotiated based on data we have on building a successful book of business. Yes, it takes at least a year for a sales rep to build a solid book, but it by no means takes months to figure out if someone can fit into our environment, which allows you no set time to come and go, while also giving you the latitude to vacation as much as you desire. We expect and encourage sales reps to work hard, smart and to leverage all the talent and experience we have at Hivewyre - those who do end up having success here. Since making these changes what has occurred at Hivewyre? • Unfortunately, many individuals were not successful in meeting the new expectations. Some did rise to the occasion and are currently ‘crushing it!” • Morale is definitely on the upswing and we are starting to feel much more like the family we originally had. • We’re experiencing record level revenues. • Our average revenue per sales rep has almost doubled. • We’re going to institute a more rigorous interview process to help ensure it’s a fit. I’m hopeful we can do a much better job. This will include reading our negative reviews on Glassdoor. I never enjoyed having an ex-girlfriend tell me, “It’s not you, it’s me”. I understand the anger and animosity. It’s better to act quickly when you know it’s not a fit, confront it head-on and from the heart, so that the other person can move forward to their “career true-love”. All too often, we feel it’s more caring to drag things out and stay in that “unhealthy zone”. That’s for those old-school companies that can afford to be mediocre. Regarding comments about our product offering: The majority of our clients measure the value we bring via real-time data and analytics tools. If our product didn’t deliver, we wouldn’t be here. We’ll let our existing and future results speak for us. Everything else is just conjecture. Please take some time and check out our blog, we’re very transparent about our goals and results. You’ll see that the rumors of our death have been greatly exaggerated. It’s good to know the coffee is appreciated.
