Pros

Only one pro when it came to this job. They will pay you for one month since you basically start off on your final warning to produce. I did love making my own schedule though! Also loved the fact that they will pay you for the one month most people are there before they fire you.

Cons

Where do I start... This place is the worst. I was brought in told they were looking to expand, possibly into a bigger office, and that there was room for growth. Within 1 week of being here and starting work, that clearly wasn't what was happening. People were being let go constantly and quitting like crazy because as the leadership says, "we want to hire rock stars". He feels people should be "not just hitting quota right out of the gate, but hitting next months quota". So he will give you one month to do so, or you're gone. Now I understand that can sound challenging and like it shouldn't be insurmountable, but the numbers they want people to hit are outrageous and as any rep here will tell you, this job takes time to learn and it's a process. The sales cycle is about 6 weeks in total, so good luck hitting your numbers when you only have 4 to work with. There was a disgruntled employee that was leaving, that on the way out the door shed some light on what was actually going on behind the curtain, via a company-wide email. It said a great many things, but the biggest of which was that the leadership had let slip that the company is actually looking to downsize to between 9-13 employees. The date this email came out, there were 25 sales reps with 7 more starting the following Monday. As of today, there are 11 sales reps. After the email came out, we had a company-wide meeting about the email where they basically called the former employee a complete liar, but everyone could read between the lines. And everything that employee had written about has thus far come to fruition. If you ask past employees from either here or Fetchback, you'll come to find out that he has a history of downsizing and then selling, just to make a quick buck and that all you are to him is a dollar sign. If you don't believe me, look him up. Do your homework and talk to past employees. The leadership however, if you really want to know more about them, just talk to any of his past employers to find out how much of a mess he left them in before finding his next job. The amount of dislike people have for him is astounding. The reason I'm writing this today, is because I just want to make sure that this company doesn't bait and switch anymore people who could possibly be turning down other opportunities just to go after the empty promises that are being dealt here. I'm sure there are many more things that I could tell about this horrid place to work, but I'm going to leave it with this... If you want a place to go and get paid for one month while you're looking for other jobs, then this is your place, just don't plan on it being a career or anything substantial. Don't waste your time.

Hivewyre Response

This review failed to mention the company’s torture chamber. We’ve done a couple of other responses regarding the transition the company has gone through. We feel it’s always important to provide transparency into our company, our performance and the decisions we make. If you’re interested, please read those to understand the company’s perspective. We make no apologies for only wanting A-players to be part of our team. We offer a flexible environment where you can set your own schedule and vacation time is not tracked. It takes a specific kind of personality that can self-motivate with that level of freedom. It’s true, our targets are aggressive, but they’re also doable. That said, while hitting your targets is obviously the goal of any team member we bring on, we are not a house of monsters (contrary to the reviewers post)! If you’re not hitting your goals but are showing the ability to self-motivate, build a proper pipeline and have an excellent work ethic, you will be given the time to succeed. o Since our recent changes, we’re happy to report the following: o Freedom to do your job the way you see fit. One of, if not, the most important aspects to happiness is having autonomy in the workplace. We haven’t lost a team member that wasn’t asked to leave. o Last month we were at 125% of our budget and anticipate similar results going forward. See our recent posts on this and check for future posts as we are as transparent as possible with our performance. o We are hiring contrary to this post. We have approximately 8 positions open now and we anticipate starting a third sales team very soon. We have implemented new practices with our hiring with the goal of ensuring team members we bring on board are a fit. o We are not in the process of selling the company and our founder does not have a history of downsizing in order to sell. In fact, when his last company was acquired we had an aggressive hiring schedule. This market does not reward cutting expenses to increase the bottom line, it rewards growth. o We have increased salaries for sales positions across the board. Income levels for our team members have also increased significantly. If you’re interested in making 6 figures, you’re welcome to interview and talk to our team members who are hitting this mark and learn how they do it. o We are a profitable company and will continue to be, even with the hiring schedule we have. We’re passionate about our product and the value we provide our clients. Our core team is excited about welcoming new team members who have a passion and drive to meet and exceed their own personal goals…We just make sure we keep the torture chamber hidden for the first couple of weeks ☺
