Identive CEO is out of touch and un-likeable. Managing by spreadsheet - wacked senior technical / product management layer to improve stock price (didn't work), leaving engineering & QA groups without experienced leadership. Trailing edge technology - Z80 based controllers and Visual Basic (VB6) software. Attempts to upgrade technology on hold due to workforce reductions. New development likely outsourced. Terrible benefits. High insurance cost, no 401k match, no bonuses/options for non-senior management, minimal company provided life insurance, ESPP is structured so you can't trade for most of the quarter. One nice benefit, Christmas shutdown, was eliminated for 2012 with no explanation by management. Rumor was Identive CEO didn't like it, so it was gone. Disrespectful severance policy - you're lucky if you can get 2 weeks even with 10+ years experience. Loyalty and dedication is a one way street. Hirsch leadership seems disconnected and inaccessible. SVP/EVP ranks bloated (effectively 2 presidents for this small division!) and populated with Identive implants at high comp levels. Most don't even work at Hirsch facility, and many employees don't know who they are. Legacy management team responsible for Hirsch success seems targeted for gradual elimination. Terrible morale, many employees dissatisfied and heading for the exits. Customers rumored to be having "what if" conversations with competitors.
