Pros

Hinge Health used to be great (keyword "used to")

Cons

- recent layoffs that impacted 170 employees (most of them in R&D) for no other reason than corporate greed. the business is stable and doing well but because they're close to an IPO they decided to get rid of people that helped get the business to where it is today. there's really no excuse or legitimate reason for this recent layoff. the founders used to brag for years about how proud they were of building a company that didn't have any layoffs but their real colors are showing and in the end, this place is just the same as every other tech company that puts profits over people - but wait, there's more! there was also a smaller round of layoffs in 2023 that was kept under wraps that impacted the people/recruiting team - forced silent layoffs where RnD was asked to relocate or leave. RnD was already overworked, understaffed and under a lot of pressure so this forced relocation policy made it a lot worse - employees are confused and unhappy by leadership decisions and its very obvious but leadership doesn't seem to really care. employee feedback, all-hands questions/comments, survey results, etc all go into the void

Pros

coworkers, some benefits, not much else

Cons

Low pay, no movement for career growth, AI implementation training disguised as an improvement when you can see the support teams are being asked to train the AI in order for it to replace them, gaslighting from management that everything is fine when customers are extremely unhappy and only the front line workers have to deal with that anger day in and out, as others have reported critical thinking and feedback with genuine process improvements are not ignored, which would be bad, but literally punished. I am only here because I haven't been fired yet and I'm looking for something else in a challenging job market
