      Awful - Software Engineer Highline Employee Review

      Pros

      You get to work with modern technology, the engineering team is awesome (was, before a series of layoffs decimated it), and you sometimes get to travel to nice locations for company meetups.

      Cons

      They don't really know what they're doing, they change direction every couple of weeks, they do random layoffs and keep mostly business/HR people around instead of engineers who will actually get the job done. They're also not transparent at all in terms of where the company is headed and runway. Aside all that, seniorities and positions are mostly political and have no resemblance to what other companies do and how they evaluate performance/contributions (e.g. you can have a technical manager with no technical expertise at all)

      Pros

      The product is fantastic, and everyone is knowledgeable about their work and the industry. The team is united to achieve the company goal - To help people's financial lives be much more manageable. There is much room to grow and learn because it is a startup company, and everyone is willing to help whomever and however they can.

      Cons

      As a startup company, you must be open to rolling your sleeves and be flexible in doing some tasks outside your realm. If this is the working environment you thrive in, then you are in the right spot!

      Pros

      - A genuinely amazing and balanced team of very talented and motivated people (no egos here) - There is a great support system for such a small company, you are being asked about how YOU want to grow and what you need to achieve your goals - Very strong VC support (future looking great) - The product is so unique and it is very evident there is a gap in the market that we are filling - A startup that prioritizes healthy culture - Very strong, knowledgeable and kind founders

      Cons

      - Would be great to see 401k rolled out soon - Curious to see how the team structure is going to look like as we are on a hiring sprint atm
