Pros

Can't think of one, I'll say a holiday party wasn't that bad

Cons

This review is specifically for ROW NYC hotel, not sure if the rest of the company is the same, hope not. As a Housekeeping Manager they tell you at the interview that you may need to do long hours sometimes, what they don't tell you is that you have to work for 10-12 hours every single day, and I'm talking about 10-12 hours of fast paced hard work. On top of that, nobody appreciates it or thanks you for it. The management is a mess, and their mess results in extra work for you. Just in a last month, three of my colleagues quit, I was the forth one, I just could not take anymore of their bs. They were not happy, probably because in my absence the higher management will need to do some hands on word (finally) to catch up, but what I was really shocked about is the HR's unprofessional-ism. She kind of harassed me, telling me that I won't be able to find a job with any of Highgate Hotels (she'll probably blacklist me just because I didn't like it there), she told me that I will not have a career, she told me how she works 50 hrs a week, she also told me that I'm not for this industry (they said I was while I worked there) and so much more in such a high disrespectful tone. I was shocked because I know what HR stands for, I know that they're supposed to make sure that employees are treated right and provide support, not discourage, harass and be disrespectful, just for resigning from the job they don't like. Newsflash HR, there are thousands of companies in America, and according to Glassdoor Highgate is the worst. Perhaps I'm not the one that's in the "WRONG INDUSTRY".

Pros

Not applicable , the company’s bad reputation is not just rumors

Cons

This company has absolutely no flexibility for employee requests however you are expected to work 7 days a week , 15-18 hour days. Medical restrictions and disabilities don’t mean anything. No compromise on their part. No recognition, No compensation, No mental health support … They will burn you out, not care how their workplace tactics affect you or your work moving forward. They will then set you up to fail then use it as a reason to start the process of getting rid of you. No empathy for people. They refuse to accommodate requests for certain people but then others, no problem. Discrimination & Favoritism, I have never met a group with such evil intentions. All their claims about employees first are farthest from the truth. They only follow policies when it is convenient for them and depending on who it’s for. It’s all about who you know , not what you know Bottom line - the company is a total scam. The less you do the better. The excuses and practices for over compensating upper management is a joke.
