Pros

There are some fun people that help make the best out of a bad situation.

Cons

Terrible compensation Terrible management Terrible benefits No career advancement opportunities Owner/CEO is dim witted Owner/CEO is not honest Does not value employees Does everything for appearances If you have any degree of skill and experience stay away from this company. The compensation is well below industry standards. If you aren't making the owner money, no matter what your job title (not just sales) the owner views you as expendable and will find any way possible to get rid of you...I've heard stories of him harassing someone everyday until they quit so he wouldn't have to pay unemployment. The CEO will watch the cameras day and night, trying to micromanage every minute of your day. The only way I could suggest anyone working for this company is if you are right out of school and have no other prospects. You can probably get him to give you a fancy title. Stay there for a year and head out to greener pastures because you definitely don't want to be trapped here. You don't want to stay more than a year or two because the company actually has a pretty poor reputation in the website development/marketing arena, other companies might be leary of hiring you if you've been there for to long. My best advice is to stay far away, especially if you have skill and experience. The owner is good at one thing, being a salesman and if you let him butter you up you'll be in a position with no pay, terrible benefits and no room for advancement. One last thing, I can almost guarantee that once they find out a poor review has been posted about them the owner will force one of his employees to post a 5 star review to offset it. If you notice, it already happened with the 1st review.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am very sorry that your experience at Higher Images did not match our intention of making your position a fun, empowering, and enriching experience. As a small, but growing digital marketing agency that has been around for over 16 years and recently winning “One of the Best Places to Work in Western PA”, the potential for career growth solely depends on the passion and dedication of our team to make this company the best it’s ever been. With an awesome team in place, we’ve been able to make a lot of exciting changes since you’ve left! We’ve moved into a much larger office space, allowing our team-members more space to collaborate, feel-comfortable, and blow off some steam with our ping-pong tables and corn-hole sets. We’ve also expanded our team, adding very diverse and valuable skills to service our growing base of clients. We continue to promote a culture of being a self-starter, creativity, and being able to achieve results with minimal guidance. We constantly strive to make all of our employees feel valued by empowering them in their current roles so they can continue to grow professionally in their fields. I am deeply disappointed by this review and I fully take responsibility for not paying more attention to your needs as a once valued member of this team. I truly wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Office parties and happy hours. Game/fitness area to use before or after work. There were 1-3 people who I genuinely enjoyed working with. Great 401k & reimbursement on gym memberships. Casual work attire allowed.

Cons

Extremely stressful, even with my previous experience in other agency settings. 8-5 workweek. Holidays? Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Memorial Day, New Year's Eve, Labor Day. On top of that have fun with your annual 5-10 days of PTO including sick days. You are expected to work overtime, the constant long hours cause burnout. Some people cope with self-medication (read other reviews on that matter). Big bosses don't care about employee well being or health. You'll get paid over 30% less than someone in your exact position at another agency. It's sad how ownership chooses to take advantage of their employees, especially the younger workforce. Not to mention the nepotism... Big bosses want talent but don't want to pay. Focused on their other companies when this is the only one with potential to actually make them any money. God-awful reputation in the industry. In job interviews I was judged (vocally) about how long I was at Higher Images but luckily I made it out with my career intact. Others, not so lucky. Save your time and energy and stay away from this company.
