Pros

You can scratch working in the WTC off the bucket list. Many talented co-workers.

Cons

I was a senior engineer at High 5. I now regret building products which benefitted that awful place. The management are tyrannical. The employees at High 5 are terrified of upsetting them, and communication with management is frowned upon. If management listened to their team, maybe they would build products that sell. The office is split into to floors. One for the employees, and one for upper management. They don't even want to work on the same floor as their subjects. I watched them build an entire platform for the Chinese Facebook market. They refused to listen to employees expressing concern that Facebook does not work in China. That platform failed obviously, and the 80 hour work weeks people invested were for nothing. If you work at High 5, your work will probably go nowhere, and you will eventually be laid off. I quit shortly after they laid off over a third of the company. They have zero value for their employees.

Pros

Remote work. Employees are nice.

Cons

Leadership. Primarily the CEO and his wife, the VP of Operations. Their decision making skills consist of speaking in word stew for 30 minutes straight, yelling at employees openly and publicly, and lacking the base-level knowledge needed to successfully navigate employment law. I have been working for over 30 years and I have never in my life experienced such a toxic duo in a leadership team. If you're curious as to how toxic it can be, just take a look at how many HR leaders they've ran through in the last several years. No one in their right mind would stay on board to be a patsy for their detrimental and many time illegal employment practices. Discrimination, racism, removal of employee benefits, etc. This place is a dumpster fire, and the if the CEO doesn't do something about it soon the company won't be able to dig itself out of the hole it's currently in.
