Pros
Working at Heroic has the capacity to be a life and career-altering experience. It is a values-driven organization; the leaders are thoughtful, the students are fascinating, the work is rewarding, and the team is universally supportive, kind, and understanding. During my time at Heroic, the company was faced with a number of exogenous challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and a subsequent natural disaster. Without fail, each and every one of my fellow teammates remained supportive, welcoming, communicative, and kind throughout the entire experience. These are very decent, very talented people working very hard to support one another and deliver a world-class product. If you are looking for a place to work with a team who will support and genuinely care for you, you will not do better than Heroic.
Cons
This isn't a "con" so much as it's just a note about fit. Heroic is an ambitious company that moves very quickly, and so the direction of the company and the speed at which its moving are subject to change. This can be in incredibly rewarding and exciting for the right person, but may not appeal to everyone. That said, Heroic's team is extremely intentional and thoughtful in their hiring practices, and so you'll likely know before you join if it's the right fit for you. (And vice versa.)
