Pros
Good benefits by today's standards. Large, stable company and a lot of long-time employees with not a lot of turnover. 40 hours is enough, no need to kill yourself. This is a great place for someone looking for a long-term career and many opportunities without being married to the job.
Cons
Very slow and bureaucratic company with an older style of management and culture. Upward mobility is there but plan on waiting awhile, years or more, between promotions. It operates a multi-industry conglomerate but struggles to manage the parts that aren't the core business which can be difficult if you aren't from their core industry- i.e. a developer used to IT industry norms will find working for a Schein IT subsidiary to be a little strange and out of touch.
