Pros
The medical benefits and access to care...which should be a no brainer actually. Also the "building" at West Bloomfield is beautiful. Tuition reimbursement is a plus, but I hear its a hassle.
Cons
Beauty only goes so far. After awhile the main street, Henry's café, atrium, Livewell, spa blah blah blah gets OLD when you start looking at your paycheck. HFHS has given ONE meager 2% raise in 5 years. Jobs are being cut, people are quitting left and right and new people are not hired. They just tack those responsibilities on to someone else with NO increase in pay, no title change, no atta boy..nothing. Just do more with nothing in return. I left HFHS for a company with a poor culture reputation BUT double in my salary. I mean I am doing less than I was doing at HFHS for double (no exaggeration) in money. Money isn't everything and the culture at my new job is what I expected, BUT I value the fact that I am VALUED and not used for peanuts. The HFHS system should be ashamed of itself. If you are in, I would get out. NO more raises are expected until they finish paying for their multi million dollar records system. Yet, everything around us is going up. Rent, car notes, gas, food...but what you make now...you will make in 2014, 2015 and probably 2016...YOU do the math.
