Pros

It's still a good place to work, mostly because of the great people they've managed to bring together. Work-life balance is still great, too.

Cons

However, after all the numerous changes last year, the company has lost its essence. It feels like leadership is now lost, trying to find itself. There's also no pay increases, no more promotions, and no inflation match.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. We’re glad to hear that the people and work-life balance continue to stand out as strengths, as those are foundational to how we aim to operate. The past year has involved significant change, and we recognize that it hasn’t landed the same way for everyone. Decisions around compensation growth and promotions were made with the long-term sustainability of the company in mind. While those choices were intentional, we understand they can be frustrating, particularly in times of uncertainty. As we head into 2026, the leadership team is extremely clear on our company objectives, strategic focus, and the priorities required to support long-term success. That clarity has been shaped by the realities of the market and by input from across the company, and it continues to guide our decisions. We take our commitment to transparency and inclusion seriously, especially during challenging periods. That doesn’t mean every decision will feel good or be universally agreed with, but it does mean we strive to communicate clearly, explain our reasoning, and keep listening as we move forward. For those who choose to continue their journey with Help Scout, we believe our culture and success are shaped collectively. Building and sustaining a great place to work requires shared ownership, thoughtful feedback, and care for one another at every level of the company. We appreciate the feedback. - Leah, VP of People

Pros

Honestly, if I could give it 4.5 stars, that would really be my rating. I like it here, but it's definitely not perfect. The people are pretty amazing. They're smart and kind and generally people I'd want to hang out with if we lived in the same place. But we don't, because we're 100% remote. And that's pretty awesome too. People love our product. It's nice to work for a company that people genuinely appreciate. We're definitely customer-focused, which is so much nicer than some of the companies I've worked for where they're just obsessed with the next enterprise deal. The work-life balance is solid here. Lots of parents and people who have lives outside of work. The opportunity for ownership is great. I'm the kind of person that likes to drive my own work and tinker with problems, and I get that here.

Cons

It's messy. I've been here a year and there's definitely a lot of whiplash from strategy changes. At times it's really hard to see where we're actually going, but things have felt a LOT better since the Fall, and I'm genuinely excited for what we're doing right now. There's a lot of turnover. Some teams just feel less stable than others.
