Pros

Helly Hansen has a strong brand rooted in outdoor performance and innovation, which makes it exciting to work on products that are genuinely used in demanding environments. The company culture emphasizes quality, functionality, and sustainability, and many team members are passionate about the outdoors. Collaboration across teams is encouraged, and there is a lot of exposure to learning about technical apparel, global markets, and consumer needs. Leadership generally values long-term brand integrity over short-term wins.

Cons

Retail store traffic can be very slow during the off-season, which can make shifts feel long and less engaging at times. Staffing and hours may fluctuate seasonally, which can make scheduling less predictable.

Cons

Systems are not great. Lacking behind the industry in technology.

Pros

Great discount and decent benefits

Cons

Allocations team sends sizes that stores don’t need, and too many items. This results in lengthy transfers to outlet locations. Replenishment process takes way too long. No omnichannel selling options - stores cannot order product for customers. Micromanagement from district/area/corporate leaders. Unrealistic sales goals. Poor communication. Lots of time wasted on conference calls. Very little payroll for stores to work with, resulting in low staffing, and then getting yelled out for not hitting KPIs. Zero development opportunities. Serious lack of diversity in corporate team and retail teams in US.
