Pros

Let me preface by saying that I have been an adult therapist for over 25 years & adore my work. I began working as a fulltime therapist at Hello Hero in February. Prior to being a therapist, I was a high school Latin teacher in a public school & have fallen in love with Hello Hero’s mission – “…to provide schools with comprehensive support and management of all….mental health needs ‘’ of teachers & their families. I have been having difficulty catching on to the computer side of things, despite a tremendous amount of support from my supervisor. To complicate matters, I fell walking my dog & needed to have shoulder surgery. Despite these issues, I have been given time off to heal & more importantly, additional time to learn my job. Wow!!! I highly recommend Hello Hero for their employee support & look forward to working for them forever!

Well welcome to HelloHero and we are so glad to have someone on our team who values our mission and client base as much as we do. Your passion for serving the population is highly values here. We understand that the switch to working remote can take a lot of tech acumen. We have tried to put together a ton of resources and make it as simple as possible but to be honest, and for any readers of this review, it is not for everyone. Keep at it and hopefully it clicks soon!

Pros

Remote opportunities with a school schedule Make your own hours (days and time) Always checking in on how things are going and what you need. Fantastic support from my support managers Alexis, Connie, and Becky: they are always helpful, even when the not-so-smart questions are asked.

Cons

Always would like more money but I am not negative on the salary

Pros

I am part-time with W2. I get to choose my own schedule and hours - the company has consistently been good at filling my schedule when I want more and I can decline more when I feel full. I see students at a virtual school 1:1 using Zoom. The company has self-scheduling capabilities (where parents select an available time) which helps scheduling at the beginning of the school year. My manager is a good person, and very responsive to any needs I have in terms of process, school relationship, etc. but there is no micromanaging and I have a lot of autonomy which I enjoy. My manager is not an SLP, but if I need SLP related advice there is a chat "community" amongst all the SLPs that work for the same school and also for the company. I get a 401K match and PTO/CTO.

Cons

As is I think pretty typical for tele-therapists, I have to provide my own equipment (computer, monitor, internet, etc) and my own materials (I pay subscriptions to a few teletherapy game sites), and pay for my own PD. Pay is ok, not fabulous, and increases have only been about the same as inflation. The company does provide access to standardized assessments but there is a limited set available (GFTA, CELF, CELF Meta, PPVT/ EVT).
