Pros

Talk a big game and want to be competitive with the large agencies.

Cons

Over promise and under deliver. Quick to fire or lay off staff. I was only there for a couple years and someone was fired from the team ever 4 months.

Pros

After close to 10 years, I still feel grateful for having landed a job here at Heffernan. There are so many positive things to point out about working here. #1 - The people. Everyone cares. They care about clients, coworkers and the community. It doesn’t matter which position you are in, if someone needs help there are people who will roll up their sleeves and support. There are Volunteer events every month that anyone can sign up for. Take the day to help a nonprofit client, and Heffernan will still pay you for a full day. It’s encouraged that we volunteer up to 4 times a year! The training is unlike any other place I’ve ever worked. There is training for everything, including job specific, technology, resources, etc. Everyone talks about the culture - it is so true how the culture at Heffernan is built on friendships and inclusive of family. And the average tenure is over 10+ years. People don’t leave, and if they do there are regrets later. I’ve had a few phone calls from prior employees that would like to come back and many times management will figure out a way to bring them back. Overall, best employer I’ve ever had and I feel fortunate.

Cons

Not everyone is 100% back in the office, so sometimes the office is quiet. Other than that, can’t think of anything.

Pros

It’s a fun place to work and I’ve made so many great friends over the years. Things can get busy, but I’ve been lucky to be part of such an amazing, supportive team. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better group!

Cons

It’s sad to see how our culture has changed. I spent years working with people who were committed and cared about the team, but now it feels like the only things that matter to the company are profit margins and whatever shiny AI thing leadership wants to chase this quarter. There are still some genuinely good people here, folks who actually care about making our company better but unfortunately most aren’t shareholders, so they have limited influence. Lately, leadership's been letting certain shareholders run around acting like they own the company and everyone in it, threatening people for voicing alternative viewpoints. It’s gross. Plain and simple. People have put in real time, real effort, and real loyalty here. It's disrespectful.
