Pros
I think the comaderie of the staff is a great thing, and my service was very welcoming to me. The training provides in induction/on boarding was interesting, despite being in Care for 3 years on and off I learnt something new. Another thing is that Heathcotes staff (at my service) were really supportive to the residents and did many activities and outings with them.
Cons
It is unfortunate, however, the pay is something that needs to be addressed. It is simply not enough for the work that you do. Additionally, there is a very long probation process, which can be off putting to some. 6 months long. The shift times can also be awkward as well, with Lates and Long days concluding at 22.30 at night. A problem if you cannot drive and public transport is limited.
