-Company did better business each year I worked here. -Worked with some great people. -If you don't massively screw up, it's almost impossible to get fired. -They are somewhat open to paying for training if you ask for it. -Stable industry -Best printer I've ever worked with! -You get your own cubicle, cell phone, computer, work gear -Standing desk via doctor's note -Health/dental benefits -Work does not follow you home -Get to see some incredible large scale machines and manufacturing
Cons
-Future of company is in the dark. It's going to be difficult to replace aging workforce. -If you come up with a good idea, good luck running it all by yourself. -Difficult to retain new employees. -Office is depressing and grey. -Key card punch in and out is terribly out of step in this day and age. -Overtime used to be an option, but no longer is (unless you work in the factory). -Majority of leadership is atrocious. Subordinates pick up slack. -Outdated technology. Even though there is a push for training, it's in the wrong direction and method. -Pay is not competitive. -Attracting good talent is difficult because of the pay. -Better solutions don't get chosen, only favorite people. -Horrible workers and managers don't get fired unless they really screw up. -Meetings are a joke in general, but here, they take it to a new level. -Parking lot can get packed. -Implementing anything new is arduous, even within small teams. -Pace is very slow... until that leaky faucet you've been complaining about bursts at the worst possible time. -Prime environment for harassment or insensitivity -NO HR DEPARTMENT -Very old-school family owned. Male dominated locker room culture. -Your skills will stagnate. If you stay here long enough you will not be employable elsewhere unless you improve yourself on your own time. -You'll see a ton of money get flushed down the toilet. -A lot of people date/marry each other here. -Office politics is tough to navigate -You'll feel like a nephew or niece if you're under 35. -Tons of gossiping -Onboarding is a nightmare. -Most eat at their desks. Difficult to start friendships. -Limited eating out options. -Rare to have office celebrations even if company is doing well. -Expect working waaay outside of your job description all of the time. -Wouldn't recommend working here long than 4 years.
