Great benefits, company grew too fast with no structure - Anonymous employee HealthOne Alliance Employee Review

Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Don’t have to pay for insurance, 401k match is nice, and they do an HSA contribution if you want that. Most of the people are genuinely nice folks and actively try to make things easier for you. Great place for parents, lots of people are flexible and also have kids. Work/life balance is great, depending on your position. Some departments are tougher, but some are easy on the work.

Cons

PTO is not as advertised. They’ll tell you about the 3 weeks you get, but forget to mention until you sign your official paperwork that they DON’T pay for holidays at all for salary. That’s a standard 9 days that most other companies do pay for. They focus too much on “culture” and not enough on actual infrastructure to support the work. File management between departments is abysmal and even though it’s something we bring up constantly, nothing ever gets done about it. Someone in C-suite gets an idea and all of a sudden things need to be done asap, and then they just drop off the table entirely. Required in person events to “bring the company together” are boring and a waste of resources. How about a Christmas bonus instead of the million t-shirts we keep getting?

Pros

Overall, there is a nice culture at HOA, however management can and will make or break the experience each employee has. This place has potential, but my experience was less than ideal.

Cons

PAL is misleading and not as good as they make it seem. You start out with a decent amount of time per year, but you must use it towards holidays if you want that day off (even Christmas, etc). Job description was also quite misleading and role was much more complex than advertised. Management is MIA and gives little to no direction. My supervisor was unresponsive and leaves you hanging, causing multiple follow-up requests and uncertainty on how to plan, or even go about daily tasks. Training is not cohesive, and is hardly enough to get by in the role.
