Pros

They are fantastic at accommodating a flexible schedule, especially during this ongoing pandemic. They help encourage employees’ self-care and emotional health. Management is logical and analytical with their decisions yet remain very compassionate. They help foster a sense of community and encourage us to help better the lives of others. They go out of their way to be as transparent as possible, especially considering we’re a public company now. My teammates are a fantastic group to work with and I am grateful for every day I have with them and this company.

Cons

Wins within our team are often praised verbally, but rarely with a celebration of any kind.

Thank you for your feedback and I really appreciate your work these past four years, as a Senior Software Engineer, helping us grow, mature, scale and succeed. Your work is foundationally connected to our ability to accomplish our mission -- the only way we'll scale our accomplishment of the mission is through great technology. I'm grateful to hear that your experience has been positive, and we'll also work on opportunities to celebrate accomplishments -- I believe we'll have more of these opportunities as we get through the challenges posed by the pandemic. Brighter days are ahead, and I'm grateful to experience these brighter days alongside talented and committed colleagues like yourself. Best, Dan

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
