Pros

I can honestly say I loved coming to work here every day. We all worked both hard and well together. I started as a Junior Developer and had a ton of support from my team which helped a ton with my professional growth.

Cons

As with any start up, there were financial struggles that impacted most everyone on the team. Management did a good job of explaining what was happening, what it meant for us individually and how we were addressing it.

Pros

The culture Topher fosters is the kind you want to work for. The work is cool and building custom stuff is awesome.

Cons

He flies away to Phoenix and leaves us in the cold for 6 months a year :)

Pros

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far working for Haystack Consulting. We work with many different clients, in a lot of different industries, so we get to help create a wide variety of technology. In my opinion, one of the best parts is our approach to consulting. It's a priority of the company to include the people building the software in most (if not all) client meetings, to ensure that there is no loss of communication between the client, product owner, and developers. We make our best effort to ensure that everyone is on the same page every step of the way. Aside from that, here is a list of other pros that are worth mentioning: * Fully remote * Unlimited PTO * Competitive salaries * Constant growth mindset * Supportive team environment * Bi-annual company events w/ paid travel If you want to give healthy start-up life a try, I can't think of a better place to plant yourself.

Cons

Things are very fast-paced and we are a small company, so sometimes the workload can be a little intense. That being said, I have never been asked to work over my 40 hours per week in my time here so far. That has happened to me with previous employers. Since it is a startup, there isn't necessarily a clear "ladder" to climb at the moment. We have had employees shift around and change their titles based on new desires in their career, though, so Haystack is flexible in that way.
