Pros

35hrs a week billable + 5 hours a week open source. No overtime, no weekends. Full support when speaking in conferences. Annual conference budget for attending a conference of your choice. Pair programming with other senior developers who are a passionate about their craft. Small company where everyone knows everyone. Show and Tell every Friday to share what you learned or new projects you are working on. Instacart budget - make your own lunch every day. Friday team lunch. Work life balance is not just a buzzword. Flat organization - no managers of managers, start your own initiatives. :) Plenty of challenges so you are never bored with your job. Relaxed casual attire - t-shirts jeans and hoodies are welcome here. Work for a company with good reputation. We organize meetups - ChicagoElixir, and VimChi once a month each. You can optionally attend those if interested - pizza and beer included.

Cons

Consulting can be hard and it is not for everybody, you need to be able to communicate with clients and break down complex technical concepts.
