Pros

As another co-worker said, benefits package are our ball and chain because they're so wonderful. Unlimited PTO (good luck trying to usewithout feeling guilty), amazing healthcare benefits, 401k matching, commuter compensation, paid uber account, amazon account, nerf battles and hoverboards around the office

Cons

Where to begin... I was hired less than a year ago and thought this place was a dream come true. In some ways, it is. The peers you make here will fast become your best friends. The management, however, is utterly terrifying -- especially executives which we now all believe to be somewhat sociopathic. I also dont believe any feedback is anonymous here; if you have complaints or concerns, rather than have them be addressed you're asked to leave or resign. It seems like a Disney fairytale until you strip the paint and realize all these wonderful people are equally scared for their jobs. We love the hip, lax environment and our peers but there isn't any trust between senior management, HR, and their underlings. Anything they tell you about a flat/horizontal management is absolute bupkis. They try and model themselves heavily off of other silicon valley companies but having been a part of several start ups now...I see the same old trend. Lack of presence/transparency from execs, promotions to leads are undeserved half of the time, no direction or guidance. There's a new company re-org and attempt to change probably every other month. Process is an absolute travesty and has been almost 0 improvement (actually, it's worse) since I started.

Pros

Hart is truly a unique company in the all the best ways. The overall culture just oozes acceptance and support. I've worked at companies in the past in both in entry level roles as well as management, and I can say truly that Hart is the only company I have been at that has supported me 100% in both my professional and personal goals and initiatives. There is very much a culture of open communication, and upper level individuals are always open to new concepts and ideas. I feel like I can be and express myself without judgement, and feel aligned with the entire company on our goal and mission. The benefits themselves are reasons to stay. Daily catered lunches, relaxed schedules, and not to mention 100% covered health benefits.

Cons

The biggest con I have noticed seem to be a lack of involvement from the Co-Founders. Even though we are small (less than 30 people) I have only spoken to Craig, the CEO, a handful of times. While I don't expect them to be involved in the day-to-day, it would be nice to see them in the office more and making a better attempt to push is in our goals. Mo is more slightly involved but is traveling more often than not and only addresses the company every few weeks at the rare Town Halls where he attends. We are progressing as a company of course, but sometimes it feels like Hart is more of a hobby for the Co-Founders than their main priority.
