Pros
Coworkers are very nice throughout the departments you have to have contact with (produce, pharmacy, deli, etc.) I like all of my managers, I feel they are very approachable. Flexible hours with PT, easy to get time off for appointments, etc. if you plan ahead and schedule them through the website. 10% off Harris Teeter products which adds up because they are already inexpensive.
Cons
If your department is poorly run, the days that are busy turn into a nightmare. At least 50% of the time there are not enough people to get all of the orders done without feeling extremely stressed. At my store there are 6 possible slots per hour for customers to have. So we can have 6 orders per hour. But the system doesn't care if you have orders with 15 items or 60 items. Obviously it's going to take much longer to shop, bag, ring up, and put away orders that are large. So if you only have 3 people shopping, and answering customer questions, and delivering orders to customers who show up, there is no way to stay ahead of your deadlines. Getting paid $9.50 to do all of that is pretty crappy. And they don't tell you what it's going to be like when you interview, even though they know. On busy days, you either won't get a break or you'll be guilted into taking your lunch at the end of your shift. So work for 7 hours straight on your feet, no place to sit for 7 hours and then be required to stay at the store taking your "lunch break" instead of just going home. Completely defeats the purpose of the requirement to take a lunch if you work 6.5 hours or more.
