Pros
Harris Health offers a good work/life balance. Their salary is competitive in the healthcare industry. In IT, there was a previous perception of the leadership not listening and not promoting from within, but they have been working hard to change that image. I see a lot of changes in the Harris Health IT culture over the last year.
Cons
Growth is slow. It has imporved but it is still slow but that goes with this being county. For people who have not worked in healthcare before, you have to listen to a lot of people who are clinical and who don't know IT to make decisions. That is frustrating for people who do not come from a healthcare background. Communication is an issue as well. There are no internal announcements made about accomplishments etc
