Pros

Good benefits Interesting and mostly courteous friendly coworkers Many people will try to help you and support career goals Working with books and have access to a massive library of front and backlist Flexibility with PTO (plenty of PTO with additional days added every few years of service)

Cons

Lack of executive transparency (most information breaks through PW or socials well before a company wide memo is sent) Low mobility outside of executive levels Low pay and low annual wage increases (2% on average) Workload expectations exceed compensation Folks tend to stay in their positions rather than moving upward; go for “title change” rather than promotion preventing junior employees from achieving senior roles Leadership is anti-union

Pros

Fully remote with all necessary tech provided, weekday schedule, great benefits, good leadership, small close-knit teams, generous PTO in addition to paid holidays

Cons

Base salary could be better but is offset with benefits package. Employee retention is high (a huge plus IMO) butcould limit upward mobility if you're looking for it.
