Pros

The work itself is interesting and rewarding. I loved my authors, many of my tasks, and my coworkers (at my level, and some higher ups). Benefits are decent, and you get lots of free books.

Cons

This company, like many in publishing, treats its young employees terribly. Pay is very low, the workload is very high, there's little room for growth (unless you're a man) and they bank on your passion for the job to go along with subpar conditions. Relatedly, there is minimal diversity, and while lots of lip service is payed to the issue, there is little political will to change the culture.

Pros

Fully remote with all necessary tech provided, weekday schedule, great benefits, good leadership, small close-knit teams, generous PTO in addition to paid holidays

Cons

Base salary could be better but is offset with benefits package. Employee retention is high (a huge plus IMO) butcould limit upward mobility if you're looking for it.
