Pros

It's early days in my time @ Hark and admitedly I'm probably fairly biased but I've been really impressed with what I've seen since starting. After spending 8 years in my last role, I was open to leaving for the right opportunity and whilst realistic about what I could do next, I never anticipated I'd find an opportunity to join a growing company and really put a stamp on everything from process, sourcing, candidate experience, D&I, onboarding and retention - it was an opportunity to good to turn down. What is clear that everyone believes in our mission, and as organisations have a heavier focus on tackling their emissions I genuinely feel we offer a much needed solution. All the team from engineers to marketing are there to support and the talent across the team is fantastic. I've been impressed with the commitment of the directors in the business who have all took an interest in showcasing our employee value proposition as we look to update and create content to demonstrate life at Hark. I feel fortunate to be part of a company with a genuine care for their staffs wellbeing and pleased to see our plans to grow in a challenging climate! As the headline states, looking forward to the future!

Pros

There’s a great level of flexibility and autonomy here, you’re genuinely trusted to take ownership of your work and make decisions. The culture and the people are what make everything work so well; you’re surrounded by talented and smart colleagues, and coming into work rarely feels like a chore. Progression can sometimes feel slow, but there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow through project ownership, cross-team collaboration, events, networking and even occasional travel. I feel genuinely rewarded for the work I do, both through the nature of the work itself and the recognition I receive from peers and senior leadership.

Cons

Day-to-day work within the business unit is quick, collaborative and generally straightforward. Because the team is small, you often get the chance to take on tasks outside your usual remit, challenging at times, but a great way to broaden your skills. When work involves the wider global organisation, things can move more slowly or require extra layers of sign-off. It’s not a major issue, just something to be mindful of when you’re used to working at a faster pace.
