Worse Retail Company - Head Pricing Coordinator Harbor Freight Tools Employee Review

Pros

Benefits - If you can call it that.

Cons

Grossly underpaid as Head Pricing Coordinator as well as being understaffed. Cooperate goomba's in charge of scheduling deliveries and scheduling recal's, and scheduling price changes do not interact in any way, leaving EVERY ASPECT to be scheduled all at once. Never the same schedule. Required to work 12 hour shifts 4 nights a week, every week, with little to no time off between shifts. Other employees ignore my words and just do as a please when putting product on the sales floor. Not enough staff, HPC and Cashiers have no choice but to work truck deliveries every week. Only 6 Full Time Positions, every cashier only works one day a week. As HPC, no room for advancement. District and Regional Managers have their nose stuck so high in the air they can't be bothered by employees, and cuss and yell at store managers and employees in front of customers.

Pros

Great benefits, fast paced environment, good teamwork. I liked the hours, you get an education about tools, whether from your coworkers or the customers. And speaking of the customers, they were on the better side for retail. Most are down to earth and easy to converse with.

Cons

Supply chain issues, many parts would never be replenished, despite being featured, advertised, and on display. That would often lead to tensions with customers. Aggressive time constraints on tasks. Sidewalk sales, holidays, and also coincidentally inclement weather days, can be quite busy and therefore stressful. Especially if there's call outs, but if you have a good management team, you'll have good staff that will want to work for them.
