First, I thank you for the review and feedback. Transparency and candor is something that I value a lot and so, I'm glad you posted this. Allow me to comment on your feedback. If you were part of HappyCo for over 3 years, you would know that people are the most important thing to us at HappyCo. We spend enormous amounts of time and energy being transparent, authentic and thinking about the well-being of each and every HappyCoer. Since founding the company, we’ve always had a high bar for performance. As the company has grown, that has meant that the expectation and level of performance also increases. (Eg. What we did 12-24 months ago doesn’t work today). And growth is stressful. “Kaizen” is one of our core values. With continuous improvement comes many moments of discomfort. It is my hope that every HappyCoer can persist and grow through the discomfort whilst continuing to perform at a high level. In spite of that, I recognize that not everyone can perform at peak performance with that speed at which HappyCo has grown in the last 12-24 months. I, for one, acknowledge that there is constant stress to perform and it's not a place to coast and collect a pay check. (There are many places that pay much better and have less pressure). The focus on the bottom line has not changed since founding the company over 10 years ago. We've always been focused on the bottom line. That is because to be a great company means to drive customer value. And the result of customer value is revenue. We all work hard at HappyCo to make the best products for our customers and make their lives that much better. The focus on the bottom line has never changed, but the intensity to get to the next level for the company has increased. I hope you find a place that allows you to shine and aligns with what you need in your stage of your career/life. I'm going to miss working with you and thank you for your journey with us at HappyCo. Take care.

Pros

There are many great, hardworking, smart people who work at HappyCo, just as there are at all companies. They were truly a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, they can't offset the travesty of an executive team who calls the shots. Decent benefits, comparable to most tech companies.

Cons

Sincerely, this was the most chaotic and disappointing experience of my career. There were so many red flags. Constant change for the sake of change, giving the sense of throwing whatever comes to mind at the wall to see what sticks but pivoting too frequently to see results play out. Little consideration is given to the impact of decisions on employees, so there's a constant level of unease and stress in the ranks. Assurances by executives cannot be relied on, as I learned. Numerous leaders have left or been pushed out over the past year, and that kind of turnover is always concerning. Attrition is high, overall, with a huge migration out of the Services team, in particular, due to extremely poor leadership, aggressive management style and general lack of competence. Any time a company knowingly allows employees to be treated poorly by certain people in management and takes no definitive action to resolve that, despite it being reported consistently, it taints the entire organization. Especially when those people are actually rewarded for that behavior. As mentioned in other reviews, executives speak badly and make fun of people who have left, which is shocking, unprofessional and feels very middle school. So many red flags, it's hard to list them all.
