Pros
*After about three years of proving yourself, the pay and benefits are decent. *A good work ethic will get you promoted if that is what you want. *You get to work with some awesome people. *Assistant department managers are usually treated well. Once beyond that point, things can get nasty.
Cons
*Store managers can be very mean. They will fake smile to the "little people" while making life a living nightmare for department managers who really need their jobs. *The petty demands of the store manager. Most of those demands have absolutely nothing to do with customer service. They will focus more on a dirt spot on the ceiling than giving you enough help and support to keep shelves stocked. *Many department managers are borderline psychotic in their efforts to keep the store manager happy while contantly trying to keep up with endless tasks sent down by corporate.
