Potential Employees & HOA Boards Beware!!! - Portfolio Manager Hammersmith Management Employee Review

Pros

Hammersmith offers employees benefits. Other than a regular paycheck, there is not much to say.

Cons

Hammersmith will often times make promises or roll out new programs with no coverage and no idea how to get the job done. Managers take the fall for everything, even when the problem is beyond the managers control. For all of Hammersmith's 30+ years of experience in HOA management it seems like often times they have no clue what they are doing. Hammersmith pushes ancillary services like websites, newsletters and construction service support but the cost is way too high for what the association receives. Hammersmith has an extremely high turnover rate for Managers and all employees in general. Hammersmith spends way too much time on pretending to be a good company with countless meetings while ignoring actual company issues and ways to help employees. Instead of listening to Managers they blame managers for everything. Maybe this is why none of the managers stay past one year. They preach core values like Life Balance, and Integrity then they dump properties on managers at will with a pedal faster mentality. If the Manager sinks its not because they were given 15 communities, its because they are a "bad manager". As far as integrity, I was personally asked to lie to clients on numerous occasions.

Pros

The people you work with, your peers, become friends.

Cons

They work you tirelessly until you’re burnt out. You are required to deal with awful homeowners and Board members even if they scream in your face. It’s “part of your job”.
