Pros
- Overall nice working climate, family friendly, they try to be inclusive toward women (have positions such as Frauenbeauftragte) etc., seem family-friendly for students etc. - unless you are willing to do overtime, I find it quite challenging to squeeze your publication into the practical outcomes of a research project
Cons
- this isn't really a HTW specific con, but overall science/third party funded research projects: my contract is limited to 2 years with 50%, so the overall salaray isn't great, honestly - the department of culture and design tries, but fail to implement sustainability concepts in education at large - during the job application process, my practical experience was not reflected in the salary category they assigned me into TVÖD, although the job posting specifically asked for a min. of 5 years practical experience - I personally do not find the "Weiterbildungsangebot" to be too attractive - offer less journal accesses and platforms than other universities
