Pros
Two good things: 1) Hourly wage was above average and 2) payday was every Friday. Come and get your 1-3 years of "experience" and move on.
Cons
Where to begin. Management does not care about you one bit. Everyone is quick to back-stab and throw you under the bus. The harder you work, the more they expect and the moment you stop to take a break, you get yelled at. Its a 24/7 operation and a union shop, so unless you have seniority, you will have horrible days off. Its a good old boys club and if they like you or you are a rat for management, you can do no wrong. The moment you complain about anything, you are put on the list and your life is made a living hell. Problems are swept under the rug. Management always looks for a way to blame the employee even thought management signed off on something. The rule is COVER YOUR BUTT AT ALL COSTS and TRUST NO ONE. Also the union is in the pocket of the company and will not stick up for you one bit. You are often forced to work over-time with a notice given just minutes before a shift ends. As others have said, this is a Union shop and people on the floor make more than the people in the lab that requires a 4 year degree. Bad product was made and was caught by the lab. Management actually directed employees to short change the necessary tests and sold the product. Later there was a massive recall. Organic milk is contaminated with non-organic. Lactose free milk often contains lactose. Product is "re-worked" meaning bad milk is pour into totes and then added back to the main silo to get re-packaged.
